Hare Krishna, here you will find the latest updates to this website.

Q: In Varanashrama Dharma, are there any specific set of rules for each Social division (Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaisya, Sudra) ? I understand that whatever the Social division is, they should work and live in Krsna Consciousness, But how Krsna Consciousness is differently applied to each of these division. For example a Brahmana Devotes His full time to Krsna, but other Divisions do their Professional Job and they will not have so much time as Brahmana to devote to Krsna. Also does the four Spiritual orders (Brahmacari, Grihastha, Vanaprastha, Sannyasa) apply to all Social Orders?

Q: From Science Of Self Realization book, below paragraph convinced me of why we should surrender and go Back to Krishna

“The beginning of our present material life cannot be traced, nor is it necessary for us to know how we became conditioned in material existence. We have to be satisfied with the understanding that somehow or other this material life has been going on since time immemorial and now our duty is to surrender unto the Supreme Lord, who is the original cause of all causes”

But From BG 8.3  in the last paragraph of the Purport it says

Q: I have been in Iskcon for about 5 years now and practising Krishna Consciousness. I have seen that in the Gaudiya literatures like Chaitanya Charitamrita , Mayavada philosophy is condemned. I do understand the fundamental principle of Advaita, Acintya Bheda Abheda and Dwaita philosophies and very much agree to our Acintya BhedaAbheda tattva. My question is, when Adi Sankaracharya has written few songs like Bhaja Govindam and Jagannatha Ashtakam, where he glorifies Krishna exhaustively, what is the reason that still Mayavadism is condemned in our society? I am very much confused because of this. Please kindly clarify my doubt.

The Personality of Godhead is supremely deserving of love because He gives spiritual instructions for everyone’s benefit. He removes everyone’s unhappiness, as the sun is to its rays. He is the Supreme self of all the jivas and He possesses all super-excellent qualities .

The Message from the Soul
Srila Prabhupada spoke about the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra and how it is not an artificial imposition on the mind. Chanting and the message of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam are very different from academic things. An academic thing is out there and you bring it in here and then you see that way. You impose it upon the mind and you can see differently than you saw before. IThe Maha Mantra) is not that. It comes directly from the soul.

The Value of Character
The sense of duty, the sense of what is to be done in a circumstance really takes character, not just book formulas. It takes deep character, and ultimately character means being dear to Krishna as is described to Arjuna in the 12th chapter of the Gita. Krishna then decorates one with such qualities.

Where Intention Goes, Attention Flows
I look forward to each morning as I take rest at night: Tomorrow is another opportunity to take shelter of the Holy Name when I chant my japa. And, I feel so inspired and I want to chant more.
So you may not be there yet but you can cultivate in that manner and that’s where your attention will go. Because the intention has just been expressed, that’s where your attention will go. And when your attention goes (to your relationship with the Holy Name) there is nothing nicer in the three worlds!

Cultivating Our True Shelter
It’s not a balance issue – balancing the spiritual with the material aspects of our life, as some persons think, it’s a consciousness issue – consciously being aware of our circumstances and, while addressing our circumstances, maintaining undivided attentiveness upon our genuine shelter. Above any other consideration, most essential is the ongoing cultivation of our genuine shelter.”

Give people the opportunity to hear about Krsna. It’s a very simple service. It’s not a merchantile service. It’s a brahminical service. We are broadcasting the glories of Krsna. And, book distribution will assist the Bhagavat dharma purpose of giving the opportunity of hearing and chanting about Krsna to others. It not only facilitates hearing and chanting about Krsna, but it facilitates hearing the message in disciplic succession because there are some people who think , they know something about Krsna, but factually they have not heard properly. Yes!

Ask yourself “why” and find a “why” that resonates with you and keep asking it. Go deeper, and deeper and deeper, and deeper and then the “what” and the “how” becomes really easy because inside there is a strong answer to the “why” question, “I want Krsna’s association” – not just a liberation idea.
