In the Padma Purana, the first two Cantos of Srimad-Bhagavatam are compared to the lotus feet of the literary form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. After Krishna departed, Srimad-Bhagavatam appeared, just like when sun sets on the western horizon, the moon will arise simultaneously or shortly thereafter on the eastern horizon. The full moon shines as brilliantly as the sun and at the same time gives soothing and cooling rays, as opposed to the hot scorching rays of the sun. The appearance of Srimad-Bhagavatam is also like that. When Krishna appeared, He annihilated the population of miscreant kings on the Earth and established the principles of dharma by teaching Bhagavad-gita.

Another point is that when you are carrying out a service in “the mood of humble service”, it is a person who you are serving. It's not just a matter of doing something and then putting a little mark by your name, "I did this service, I did that service", like making a report card. You are serving a person.

You open Bhagavad Gita, pause, and meditate: "Krishna wants to speak something to me, and Prabhupada wants to deliver that message. It has got my name on the envelope. Let’s see what is inside." Read in that way, it is a personal message for you. Since each of us has a relationship with Krishna, the message inside may read within our hearts a little bit differently, but it is a very personal message of how to come to Krishna.

If you want to preserve the Hare Krishna movement that our Founder-Acarya gave to all of you, read Prabhupada’s books. Read them carefully. Read them so that you can understand the intention of our Founder-Acarya.
