Lord Caitanya
January 2, 2009

While conducting the Mayapur Yatra we visited the HQers of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur's preaching mission, which included his main temple Sri Sri Gadharvika Giridhari. While circumabulating around the deities one sees on the 4 corners outside the mandir itself, along the parikrama marg, the murtis of the 4 vaisnava acaryas of the 4 bonafide disciplic successions (as decribed in Padma Purana.)

Vishnudutas checking yamadutas

Summary: After the Yamadutas were checked by the Visnudutas from taking the subtle body and the soul of Ajamila from his body to the court of Yamaraja to be punished for his sins, they directly went to Yamaraja for an explanation of how this had happened. One main feature of their query has to do with their interest to know if there is one supreme controller, or are there many controllers without any absolute person or authority above them all. Narada asked a similar of Lord Brahma, his father and spiritual master; like the Yamadutas, Narada was under the false impression that the immediate person who he was serving had no superior. Both Brahma and Yamaraja cleared this doubt very wonderfully. In Yamaraja's case, he used the example of cloth.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur

Summary: The quotes below from Bhaktisiddhanata Sarasvati Thakur on 'reformers' are clearly written from the position of an uttama adhikari Vaishnava who has taken the humble position of one not on the topmost stage of spiritual realization, but who had assumed the position of a madhyama Vaishnava reformer. Bhaktisiddhanata Sarasvati Thakur's appearance in this world was called for by his father, Bhaktivinode Thakur, in a prayer to the Supreme Lord to send a ray of Vishnu to specifically reform the wayward condition of the followers of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Under the direct order of Bhaktivinode Thakur and Gaura Kishor das Babaji, he accepted the service of an acharya, which meant that he voluntarily accepted the position of a preacher of Lord Caitanya's message.
