Srila Prabhupada Letter to: Sukadeva — Ahmedabad 13 December, 1972

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your kind letter
dated November 13, 1972, and I have noted the contents with great care. I am
so glad to receive your report after such long time, and it appears that
everything is improving more and more, by Krishna's grace. I like this idea
of distributing books and preaching, that is Lord Caitanya's plan, and
because you are doing it so nicely you are already making the greatest
contribution, so what need there is for some special instruction from me?
But if you want, I must give, because you are serving Krishna so nicely,
so in that case my request to you is that you enter into the universities

One of our god-sister's, Sujan dd, was in Vrindavan with her young child, a daughter, during Srila Prabhuapda's final pastimes. During a darshan, her daughter was with playing with another young child and somehow she ingested a poisonous substance, unknown to Sujan who was at the darshan. When she returned, her daughter complained on not feeling well and Sujan took her on her lap, not thinking it was anything serious, and encouraged her to chant. Her daughter died in her arms. You can imagine the devastation felt by this young mother, who was filled with grief and confusion. The body was bathed and dressed by devotees and put on a stretcher and taken on praikrama around the temple.

Sruta Kirti Prabhu is the source of the following -

Srila Prabhupada told me in a car while passing a soccer field in Calcutta that he played football (soccer) in his youth. "I played the position of goalie because I did not want to run too much."

You have no experience here in your country. Have you got any experience? But in India we have got experience how in the morning the cowboy takes some food from the mother and with the cows he goes to the field. The cows are let loose on the grazing ground. They are enjoying, and this cowboy is sometimes singing. The flute, Krsna's flute is because He is cowboy.

Brahmananda: I once asked Srila Prabhupada, "What is the best way to sing kirtan?" He replied that "You sing in such a way that you never get tired, so that the kirtan should be able to go on endlessly."
