1. Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.28.19, Nairobi, October 29, 1975 by Srila Prabhupada
"Caitanya Mahaprabhu has taught us kirtaniyah sada harih [Cc. Adi 17.31].

"Then preksaniya, "He is worth seeing." We are accustomed to see so many things. That is our bondage. Aksnoh phalam. If by the eyes you see the Deity, the Vaisnavas... The Vaisnavas, with tilaka, with kanti, with chanting beads, as soon as you see... And practically you know. As soon as they see these Hare Krishna movement people, they also chant, "Hare Krishna," giving a chance to the others. The dress is also required. You should be always equipped with tilaka, kanti, and sikha, sutra. Then, as soon as a common man sees, "Oh, here is a Hare Krishna man. Hare Krishna," he'll chant. Automatically you give a chance to chant Hare Krishna.

Quite often Krsna will save the last Bhagavad Gita in my cart for a really special person. Sonny, the last person I met on Dec 22, told me his story about how he tried to commit suicide by jumping off a building. He landed on his head and damaged his spinal cord. He was told that he would never walk again and he couldn't use his body to do anything for himself. He said that he promised God that if he could walk again, he would quit drinking and smoking. While in the hospital, he met a man who performed some kind of healing prayer/miracle to help him. The next day, he could open and close his hands, later, move his arms, and finally his legs. He gave all thanks to God for answering his prayers.

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

You may find this video posted on ISKCON News of interest.

As noted, US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is....a Vaishnava... and she took her oath of office with the Bhagavad-gita....In this video...she explains the the importance of the Bhagavad-gita...and highlights the value of Lord Krishna's message in overcoming the challenges that face modern society.....

You'll note the translations of the Gita she quotes are Srila Prabhupada's and the Gita shown is Bhagavad-gita As it Is.

She "preaches" quite a strong message of bhakti and devotion, and mixes in many Vaishnava expressions.

Prabhupada's Vrindavan Krishna-Balaram Temple - How it all began? Srila Prabhupada wanted to feature Krishna and Balarama because the area of Raman Reti where the temple was to stand was where Krishna and Balarama played as cowherd boys with Their friends. Raman Reti means enjoyable sands. There’s a nice park near the temple dedicated to Their dancing. It has an overwhelming feeling and is a wonderful place to chant Hare Krishna.I first learned of Srila Prabhupada’s plan for a “heaven on earth” in Vrindavana, India in May of 1970.

The President of Mauritius H.E Mr. Kailash Purryag along with his wife Mrs. Aneetah Purryag, Dr. Arye Kumar Jagessur (Mauritian ambassador to India) and the officials from the embassy visited ISKCON Delhi yesterday evening. A brief report recounting their visit is presented below.

The President who was on a personal visit to India was greeted at the temple entrance by Raghava Pandit Prabhu (who had arranged and coordinated this visit) and other senior devotees of the temple. All the while a team of 20 devotees kept performing sankirtan in the background. Then a svasti vachan was performed to invoke auspiciousness for the President's visit.

Once, one of our book distributors in Holland was distributing books in the offices of a business. The authorities didn’t like it and called the police so the devotee ran into the street with his books. As the police chased him, he turned the corner into a street but saw that it was a dead-end! He didn’t know what to do! Then he saw a little alley and ran into it. It was just a back alley, with no windows, only walls – but in one wall, there was a door. He tried the knob and it was unlocked, so he went inside.

Hare Krishna. I thought you might like to know a little bit of the untold side of Nelson Mandela. He came several times to ISKCON's Ratha Yatra in South Africa while he was president of the nation. The first time Bhakti Tirtha Swami met him, in the course of their conversation, Maharaja quoted a Gita verse. Half-way thru the verse, Mandela quoted the rest of it. BT Swami was surprised. He asked "You know the Gita?" Mandela said "Try me." Every Gita verse Bhakti Tirtha Maharaja knew, Nelson knew as well. Naturally, BT Swami asked "How is this?" Nelson Mandela explained that he was imprisoned on Robbins Island along with some of his fellow leaders of their political party, the ANC. One of them was an Indian-bodied lawyer.
