Maharaja Pariksit says “Tell me more! Speak more of such katha!” Such hearing has an effect on the heart. The spiritual happiness swells within the heart and the eagerness to hear increases- not just the eagerness of the feeling of happiness and contentedness within, but also the happiness of the ear and the heart just to hear the glorification of the Supreme Lord increases.

The beginning stage of bhakti comes from the association of those who are empowered to give Krsna. We should be very mindful of the good fortune that we have all received. When Gratitude, no small thing, enters the heart then Bhakti can grow. It can grow up to the stage of prema. And when gratitude is absent we are not going to get to prema. It is not going to happen. Our practice will be mechanical at best.

Knowledge, association, cultivation - these principles apply to developing any quality or eradication of an unwanted quality or characteristic. You can make your little chart, in mind or literally on paper, these are point of knowledge, these are action points of association and cultivation, and slowly move (towards your goal).

Maharaja Pariksit, after hearing from Sukadeva Goswami, says that a person who regularly hears the pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Balarama, who is unlimited, glorious, and all powerful, naturally develops the qualification of feeling completely full, satisfied, and detached.

With such love, Lord Caitanya daily visited Kholaveca Sridhar. With such love, Krishna has feelings for those that want only Him, whether they have opulence or have no opulence. Whether they're disgusted with the risk of having opulence that disturbs the mind and makes one materialistic, or one has those things and remains undisturbed. That's the position of akincina. Queen Kunti twice says, persons who are not akincina cannot feelingly pray, but rather their feelings are going to their hopes for material prosperity. So even if they're doing something in relation to God, they're hoping for material prosperity in some form or fashion or combination. So they can't feelingly call out.

Krishna's omniscience and His apparent bewilderment
December 5, 2016

We are hearing about our worshippable Lord Krsna, about His pastimes, His compassionate nature and His nature of enjoying rasa. It's wonderful!
With our tiny brains, we can't understand Krsna. With proper intelligence, however, when we hear Krsna's pastimes and receive it nicely, the heart becomes pure. Gradually, gradually the truths about the mystery of Krsna will become disclosed to us. And we will become more attached to Krsna!

The month of Damodara is very special in our Vaisnava practice. This Kartik month is so special that any spiritual activity performed in this month is increased in spiritual value many times. Srila Rupa Goswami in his book, Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu has described the importance of the month of Damodara.

There is only one thing in the heart and the mind of Srimati Radharani, and that is serving and pleasing Krsna. Because of this unequaled love that Radha has for Krsna, Radha steals the heart and the mind of Krsna. When we say "Radha" in the vocative form, it becomes "Radhe". Similarly, "Hara" in the vocative form becomes "Hare". "Hara" is the internal potency of the Lord, who is none other than Radha. While chanting our maha-mantra, we pray, “O Supreme Goddess Radha, You who steal the heart of Krsna, please engage me in the service of the Supreme Lord, Krsna”.
